Math and English assessment tests are no longer required.
SBCC uses multiple measures, including high school grade point average, coursework, and specific grades for placement into Math & English courses that are not English as a Second Language courses.
This data was collected when you applied to the college. If we do not have your high school information, you will need to submit a supplemental form (see step #4 below). If you feel you mis-reported your high school data on your application you can email a copy of your transcript to firstname.lastname@example.org to see if your placement levels need to be updated.
Important: Dual Enrollment Students seeking to take SBCC classes with Math and/or English prerequisites need to have their high school counselor submit the appropriate Counselor Form For Student Placement on the Dual Enrollment website.
To look up your Math and English placements:
- Log onto your Pipeline account
- Under the STUDENT tab, click on STUDENT RECORDS
- Click on VIEW COURSE PLACEMENT AND ELIGIBILITY
- If we don't have a placement for you, please click on the HIGH SCHOOL DATA FORM (link in Pipeline) to submit the information required for placement
If you have a New Student Assessment Hold that is preventing you from registering for classes or registering for a Class Planning Session it's likely because you need to submit the HIGH SCHOOL DATA FORM. This form allows you to submit the information required for placement.
Please follow these step-by-step directions for help filling out the High School Data Form.
SBCC staff are available to assist remotely. Email us at email@example.com.
