DeAngelis earns SBART award
WSC scoring leader named Athlete of the Week
Francesca DeAngelis, a sophomore on the SBCC basketball team, has been named female Athlete of the Week by the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table.
DeAngelis, a 5-9 guard/forward from Laguna Beach, had 23 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks in a 77-65 victory at L.A. Pierce on Saturday. The WSC scoring leader has tallied 20 or more in her last five games.
It was the fifth straight win and eighth in nine games for the Vaqueros (15-10, 7-1), who are 1 1/2 games behind Ventura (9-0) in the WSC North race.
SBCC plays host to No. 1 Ventura on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
