<description>The U.S. Department of Education has awarded Santa Barbara City College a federal five-year grant totaling $4 million to support programs to increase the number of associate degree graduates who transfer to four-year institutions in the fields of science, engineering and math. The Hispanic Serving Institution Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (HSI: STEM) grant places special emphasis on Hispanic and low-income students and is the single largest in the college's history.
