Students Enrolled in Spring 2012 on Disqualification  

There are two options for Fall 2012 registration for students on disqualification.  SBCC strongly recommends that you complete Option #1 (see below) which will not only help you achieve academic success but will allow you to register for Fall 2012 classes in May 2012 versus Option #2 (see below) where a student must wait until July 2012.  Option #1 will also clear you to register for Summer 2012 classes.

Option #1 - Registration for Fall 2012 prior to the end of the Spring 2012 semester -

The deadline to submit documentation for Option #1 was 3/23/12 and has passed.  Please review Option #2 below for information on Registration for Fall 2012 as a continuing student on disqualification.

Option #2 – Registration for Fall 2012 after the end of the Spring 2012 semester – If you fail to complete Option #1 in the prescribed timeline you will have to wait until your Spring 2012 grades post to your transcript (July 2012) and will need to file and have approved a Fall 2012 Petition for Reinstatement to be eligible to attend SBCC in Fall 2012.  
SBCC will mail and email (to Pipeline) the Fall 2012 Petition for Reinstatement to continuing students on disqualification in July 2012.  If you earn Good Standing or Disqualification Exception status at the end of Spring 2012 you will not have to Petition for Reinstatement to attend Fall 2012.

Students Not Enrolled in Spring 2012 on Disqualification

Welcome back. We are glad that you chose to return to SBCC to achieve your educational goals. To be able to enroll in Fall 2012 classes, you will need to complete the following two steps:

1) First you must Re-apply to SBCC. You cannot complete the second step below until you have re-applied to SBCC.

2) Secondly, you must fill out and have approved a Fall 2012 Petition for Reinstatement.

Estudiantes inscritos en el semestre de Primavera 2012

Se te permitirá matricularte en clases para el otoño 2012 antes de que termine el semestre de primavera 2012.   Sin embargo si continúas descalificado debes también completar y que se te apruebe una Solicitud de Reingreso para mantenerte en los cursos inscritos previamente.   Todos los estudiantes descalificados al fin de la primavera 2012 deben completar y tener aprobada una Solicitud de Reingreso para continuar en SBCC en otoño 2012.  Esta petición estará disponible en Julio del 2012.

Estudiantes que no están inscritos en el semestre de Primavera 2012

Requisitos para matricularte en el Otoño 2012.  Bienvenidos. Nos alegra que hayas elegido volver a SBCC para alcanzar tus metas educativas. Para poder inscribirte en clases del semestre del Otoño 2012, deberás seguir los siguientes pasos:

1) Primero deberás solicitar tu admisión en SBCC. No puedes continuar con el segundo paso hasta no haber entregado la solicitud.

2) Debes completar y que se te apruebe una Solicitud de Reingreso Otoño 2012.  Para matricularte en el Otoño y el Verano del 2012, se requiere  que completes la petición titulada “Solicitud de Reingreso Otoño 2012" y una segunda petición titulada “Solicitud para matricularte en verano 2012-Descalificacion“ al mismo tiempo.  Si solo te vas a matricular en el verano del 2012, solo tendrás que completar la petición titulada “Solicitud para matricularte en verano 2012-Descalificacion. “

Students Enrolled in Spring 2012 on Disqualification

Students on disqualification in Spring 2012 who submit the Spring 2012 Student Success Plan, Spring 2012 Midterm Grade Report, and the "Request to Register for Fall 2012 Prior to the End of Spring 2012" in the prescribed time line will be able to register for Summer 2012 without filing a petition.  Students who fail to submit these 3 documents in the prescribed time line must submit a Request to Register for Summer 2012 - Disqualification to be eligible to attend Summer 2012.

Students Not Enrolled in Spring 2012 on Disqualification

1)  First you must Re-apply to SBCC.  You cannot complete the second step below until you have re-applied to SBCC.

2)  Secondly, submit a "Request to Register for Summer 2012 - Disqualification" form and you will be eligible to attend Summer 2012.  If you plan to enroll in Fall 2012, it is recommended that you submit both the Summer and Fall 2012 disqualification petitions at the same time.

Si solo te vas a matricular en el verano del 2012, solo tendrás que completar la petición titulada “Solicitud para matricularte en verano 2012-Descalificacion. “

Student Success Counseling and Student Success Plans  

Student Success Counselors are available in the Academic Counseling Center in Spring 2012 by appointment and are here to help you achieve academic success.  Student Success Counselors work with you personally to create a Student Success Plan to help you to overcome your obstacles and get back on track.  The best time in Spring 2012 to meet individually with a Student Success Counselor is in February as appointments are limited.  Students who wait until late in the semester may not be able to meet individually with a Student Success Counselor. Before you meet with a Student Success Counselor, you must complete the Student Success Homework and bring to your Counseling appointment.
The Student Success Plan that you create with your Student Success Counselor will:

  • Map out your goals
  • Identify your greatest strengths and values
  • Identify your motivation and how to increase it
  • Identify your obstacles to student success and specific actions you can take to overcome them
  • Identify important resources for student success

Let Student Success Counselors help you to get back on track and earn the success that you deserve.

Courses in which students have previously received substandard grades and which are inappropriate to the student's present educational objectives may be waived when a student-initiated petition has been approved by the Scholastic Standards Committee.  Review the Academic Renewal policy to see if you qualify.
