German Program

The German Program offers a sequence of two basic courses focused in the fundamentals of grammar, pronunciation, orthography and conversation. On the intermediate level the courses are emphasized in the basic language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. In the area of conversation, GER 120,130 & 140 promote free and spontaneous oral expressions in German to help the students improve their conversational skills.

 

Course Description

-GER 101 & 102 — Beginning German - Fundamentals of grammar, pronunciation, orthography and conversation. 

-GER 103 — Intermediate German I - Review of basic structures, with emphasis on comprehension and vocabulary building. 

-GER 104 — Intermediate German II -  Continuation of GER 103. Emphasis on listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Review of grammatical structures, vocabulary-building through readings, research and discussion of cultural topics. 

-GER 120 — Beginning Conversation - Promotion of free and spontaneous oral expression in German at the elementary level. 

-GER 130 & 140 — Intermediate Conversation - Skills of conversation, via topic-oriented expanded vocabulary at the intermediate level.
