ProQuest
is available from any computer connected to the campus network. An
electronic database, it contains indexing for about 3,000 magazines,
journals and newspapers including the Los Angeles Times. Full-text is
available for more than half of the articles. Full image display
includes charts, photographs, graphs, tables and text exactly as it
appeared in the published document. The system is available on a 24/7
basis.
Using ProQuest, you can search by keyword to find
background information on a specific issue, person or event, and
copy/paste information for your files. Good HELP screens are part of
the ProQuest package and useful when using ProQuest at home.
On
campus there is no need to log on as you will go directly to the
introductory search page where you may select a general search, or
search only selected modules. Off-campus remote access requires a
password and login code. Register for a password and login at the
library reference desk with your student i.d. card. Registration must
be renewed each semester as the password is changed.
