| David`s
dissertation concerns the impact of Gaelic mercenaries
on Tudor policy in Ireland during the sixteenth
century. The mercenaries' importance doomed efforts
to peacefully incorporate the entirety of the island
within the bounds of English laws and customs. |
| More
broadly, his background is largely in European history.
As such, he teaches Western Civilization as well
as courses that are more focused geographically
and chronologically (Modern Europe, History of Russia,
Britain, etc.). |
| Presently
he is helping to develop two new world history courses
for SBCC. These will be taught for the first time
next fall (2003) in Asia. This exciting setting
will be possible because he will be one of the instructors
leading our study abroad program to China next year.
He eagerly looks forward to the experience and invites
interested students to participate. |
