The maximum hours allowed in Fall/Spring is 18 and in Summer is 8. For Dual Enrollment students, the maximum hours allowed is 9 (Fall/Spring) and 8 (Summer).

Fall/Spring: Students with a cumulative 3.0 grade point average with 12 or more units (not ESL) completed at SBCC may enroll in up to 20 units (9 units in Summer). Visit Admissions & Records for assistance.
Ability to enroll in excess of 20 units (9 units in Summer) requires counselor authorization. Students who do not have a cumulative 3.0 grade point average at SBCC or who have records from another college or high school may take in excess of 18 units (9 units in Summer) upon counselor authorization. Visit the Academic Counseling Center for assistance.
Prerequisite: You have not taken the required prerequisite or corequisite or passed
the appropriate assessment test (ENG, Math, ESL). Go to www.sbcc.edu/prerequisitepolicy.
