Reveles named to All-American team

Gilbert, Zehner make All-Southern Cal
SBCC shortstop Steven Reveles has been named All-American in baseball. Pitcher Tyler Gilbert and outfielder Zach Zehner were selected to the All-Southern California squad.
Reveles, a sophomore from Dos Pueblos High, has accepted a scholarship to the University of Nebraska. He was voted Player of the Year in the WSC North after batting .305 and leading the state in stolen bases with 30. He batted in the leadoff spot and struck out just 11 times in 154 at-bats.
Reveles was the leading hitter in conference play with a .372 average.
Gilbert, a 6-3 freshman left-hander from Santa Cruz, went 9-2 and was third in the conference with a 2.43 ERA. He struck out 73 and walked 17. He was the co-Pitcher of the Year in the conference.
Zehner, a sophomore from San Diego, got a scholarship to Cal Poly SLO. He was third in the WSC North with a .358 batting average. He led the conference in RBIs with 38, the seventh-highest total in the state.
The Vaqueros (20-17) won their last three games to finish second in the WSC North and earned their third straight playoff berth for the first time in school history.
