Prerequisite Help (for currently registering students only):
If you received a "prerequisite not met" message while registering for class your eligibility has not been cleared in the College computer system. You will either need to test to qualify or provide official documentation demonstrating satisfaction of the prerequisite. For English and math prerequisites, read the information regarding Alternatives to Testing at the Assessment Help site. If you do not qualify for an alternative to testing, you are required to take an assessment test prior to registration. View the testing schedule at the Assessment Help site. If you plan to use coursework from a previous college or a test score (i.e. AP, EAP, etc.) to meet a specific course prerequisite at SBCC, you must submit an official transcript and/or test score report along with Prerequisite Challenge Form A to the Prerequisites Office for review and possible exemption from testing.
You may also mail your Prerequisite Challenge Form with your official college transcript and/or test score information to the Prerequisites Office. Note: all test score information must be accompanied by a high school transcript for counselor review.
